Hello just wanted to start this so people can find out some info about this company. I currently goto this school, and for $25,000 then with interest you pay close to 40,000. Definitely not worth it wish I could go back in time and kick my own ass. They promise a lot and sounds great, especially those who want a career change. Tony Galati, owner, will say he can get you a job as soon as you get your A+ and MCP.Well I got CompTIA A+; MCP; MCTS; MCDST; and my MCSA, and I have yet to see this company deliver on there promise to get students a job. It's been 7 months and no job. I quit work to study full time and to get a job in less then 3 months as he said in his Prospective Presentation. Now I just want to say I'm not the only student that feels this way. I'm gonna post a letter that was Emailed to Tony. Hope other students add there input.

LETTER BELOW

Tony and Bill,

We would like to express our concerns and issues with several things that have taken place at Mycomputercareer.com that we feel need to be addressed. We have also been informed by Bob Yamin to pass our concerns on to you.

Our first concern is that we feel this company has not been honest with any of the students taking these classes. The commercials on the radio are misleading because they offer promises that cannot be met such as “We will find you a job, work with local companies to find the jobs that aren’t advertised (Career Builder, Indeed , Dice etc-which are advertised) with companies who are ready to hire”. Our entire class has been promised this. It seems that the money is there only if you already have 3 years of experience. We, as a class feel mislead by the quote, “the easiest part of this is finding you a job” (this was quoted to each person in our class)? If we are not mistaken, no one in our class has had a job found for them. We were told things like “I have a company right now that needs 40 techs and I need the students to fill these positions”. How many students actually got a position there? We really do not want to be misled when it comes to promises made.

Students should be informed upfront that all jobs out there require a certain amount of years of experience and that you cannot secure a job just with these certifications. You cannot make a career change with the certifications alone. This is a major piece of the puzzle that is missing from the communication at Mycomputercareer.com.

We have done some research and discovered that there has been a similar business like this owned by you under another name that has since gone under, this does not provide us any security.

We believe this could be an honest company that can really succeed if the focus was on being honest with students by following through with what they were promised. If you are going to communicate to potential students that this is a career change and that you will be placed in jobs guaranteed then you need to ensure that happens. There needs to be individuals (more than 1 person) at Mycomputercareer.com that focuses on making sure students find jobs that are worth the cost of the courses. If anything, a recruiter needs to be hired who can ensure all efforts are being taken to find jobs for students.

We feel like we have been misguided by the mission statement that states; “assist and guide our students in finding and securing a new career in the IT industry with the assistance and experience of our Director of Placement”. The company also mentions in the Career Placement Services Overview that “Our career placement Directors (again who are they?) work with local companies (these local companies have not been specified to students) to find the jobs that aren’t advertised with companies who are ready to hire.” And it also states “We will provide you with a list of employers (not temp agencies) that we work with right here in North Carolina”. Again, who has been helped from our classes with finding a job because in my class alone not one person has been helped or has had an interview? Also, as a class we sent Steve to speak with you around Thanksgiving about substituting MCSE for CISCO. And we were told by Steve that you would think about it and let us know. We never heard back from you! We feel that as a class, this is a concern that should be addressed. Please do not avoid the situations and concerns we have expressed as students and our expectations. We would like for you (Tony) only to attend our class next Tuesday February 24, 2009 to discuss the concerns that are addressed in this letter. Please do not postpone this meeting or not show up at all. We would like a conversation, face to face and not by phone or e-mail. We, as a class, have taken the time to write this letter and voice concerns that we deserve the courtesy of a response and a resolution. We think the red flag is that we have concerns and have taken the time to pass them on. Please take the next step to resolve them.
